Better question is when will we stop singing it....
That song should be banned from every playlist!
Sorry, I love it.
My daughter had a recital a week ago, one of the other kids played and sang 'Sweet Caroline.' The guy in front of me was softly singing "Bop-Bop-Bop" and doing his hands in the air (as were a few other people in the audience, including me). His wife looked at him in alarm, but she was also trying not to laugh.
When we were kids, and I mean 9-10 yrs old, in summers we lived in the pool. My brother, me and our best friend would play all the usual kinda games kids play, but also had one where we would all get underwater and 1 person had to sing a song that other 2 had to try to figure out which song it was. Our friend did sweet caroline one time and we all popped up and laughed because we knew instantly what song he was singing. It was not a song we liked very much, lol.
Sweet Carinline is a Covid song about a short line at a drive thru.
Sometime in the mid 2000's, TD Smith suggested to me that we play it in the 8th inning. I wasn't a BoSox fan, so I had no idea it was a Boston thing. It caught on really quickly by a select few, while everyone else hated it. I tried killing it with no luck. Sorry y'all.
