I did 30 minutes with Mike yesterday one on one.

Now, I wanted to do something different. Nothing about what offense and defense he'll run or his assistants or calling plays or anything like that.

Instead we talked about his career at UL and the beatings he took, the heartbreak of having a bowl game snatched away from them at the last minute (2008) his first road start (2005), his dad's influence. He had Robe's book and a #36 hat and I asked him about him almost playing baseball for Robe.

He found out at noon Friday he was the guy and it wasn't announced til Sunday. Who did he share the information with?

And, we also talk about the accident that could have killed him and what makes his wife Lindsey so special.

Mike's parents were at just about every single FB practice as well with their lawnchairs and survival kit.

They might have skipped the 3 Days a week his dad worked, but it didn't seem like it.
