……Well we won the championship and had pretty good student support….. all were pumped and the message was repeated over the speakers….., Don’t go on the field….. I’m thinking of my days at McNaspy and marching to the president’s home to let us play against Blacks in basketball….. IM THINKING ABOUT THE UL LOUISIANA NAME….. I’m thinking about Jake D beating T a&M and the goal posts…. I’m thinking about the NO Cajuns win FG…. lm thinking why are the students still in the stands…….. then some kid jumps out on the field and runs to the center of the gathering area…… soon the mass of Ragin’ Cajun students rush on! Don’t know who you are man but thanks for being a part of UL tradition…….. Who is that guy?????

People around me seemed appalled the students did not listen…. my response to them was “Good for them!! let them have fun and enjoy the moment. It’s their school their night.

The essential definition of USLing it…expecting the students/fans to be good sheep and come single file onto the field. Reminds me of the “protest” in the 70’s over the Iranian hostage crisis. Every speaker was hand pick and had their “speeches” pre approved.

Sort of angered me when I heard the directive…sure remember App fans rushing the field a few years back.

Kids today are terrible. No good. Out of control. Back in my day kids followed the rules. They never ever rushed the field after a big game. Not even once.

Well we never rushed the field in my 4 years, but it was because there was never a reason!

We rushed the gate to get more liquor after we went down three touchdowns a lot though.

We would have never tolerated that student behavior on my watch. Those 3 deputies on duty had to high tail it over to direct traffic at Fatima after games.

The purpose of not rushing the field was for App to get off the field. That is the only reason.
