I wish the thread title would have read a little differently. Some visitors might get the wrong idea and not even open the thread. This could be misquoted on other forums. But that is just one man's opinion.

Do you guys think a recruit or potential coach is sitting there thinking. Ive been interviewed/recruited and asked all my questions and done my own research, consulted with trusted sources and family. But I wonder if they are hiding something? Now....where can I go to find the unvarnished truth? Someplace where I can glean the truth that I can get from no other place.....Oh yeah! A fan message board!!! This! This is where I can go to really make my decision! LoL! Seriously? Thats what yall think? Some of yall are bleeding through your pants because people are voicing obvious concerns? Yall funny.

I 100% think opposing coaches would use "their own fans don't think their new coach is qualified" to negatively recruit.

I tell you what scares me about the hire. The fact that goobers like Cajun Vic & JMV supposedly knew days before anything was official & therefore could have had anything to do with the hiring just scares the living HELL out of me. Other than that, I understand why Dr. Maggard made the decision.

This is my take on the situation. I think hiring someone within the program was a right move. Now whether Desormeaux is the guy only time will tell. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Things I have against him

1. Coaching experience
2. Young
3. Not being a coach anywhere else
4. Not having the connections with other coaches. We will see who he hires?
5. Being able to run a Division I-A program
6. How to manage a team
7. Knowing what plays to call and knowing what to do in key situations.
8. Having the persona to be a Division I-A coach.

If he doesn’t get it done we will tell within 2 yrs.

I just wish we hired someone with more experience that has coached at bigger programs. I support it but personally in the long run it will be the wrong move. His first test will be Marshall in the New Orleans Bowl.

I will be the first to admit if I am wrong! I hope I am wrong !

I think this post represents just about everybody here, even the "whiners". Anybody who is a cajun fan loves MD and what he's done for our program over the years. I don't think anybody here is gonna be giving up their tickets in some sort of protest to the hire but again, there are questions. I'll stand anxiously by and see what happens with the assistant and support staff hires. If Mike is able to get some really good guys in here around him I think that will ease many peoples nerves.

Regarding the two above mentioned goobers: Every now and then, even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I have found myself much less agitated these days by applying the "ignore" feature regarding Vic. I think Coach Desormeaux will be fine.

And all this from a guy who doesnt even go to the games. Wants people to "prove" their allegiance by not voicing concerns. But wont prove to anyone that he actually goes to games. Boy bye!

I pray that all of US (myself included) who have any doubts about Coach Mike feel like dog crap in the next 2-3 years.
