Money paid to a non profit is received tax free, however I don’t think money paid by a non profit is received tax free unless it is paid to another nonprofit . . . I don’t think there is a nonprofit category in the tax code for either offensive or defensive linemen . . .

Even pro sports figured out that this doesn't work. Thus the salary caps and other limitations. Keep in mind this is applicable to all of college sports. Duke basketball players get 100K, Oklahoma softball gets 150K, LSU baseball players get 75K. You get the jist.

A bunch of Texas alums think they are pulling off something big when in fact they are sinking the ship for all of us. The interest in college sports is going to plummet under this model. Who cares when only a half dozen teams have a legitimate shot at the grand prize. I've been preaching it this past few days about how critical it is for all FBS conferences to have a seat at the table for a shot at the NC. This is just another blow.

The ultra rich who can't buy an NFL team can now own their own college team.

Meh, just putting the money out in the open. They’ll go back under the table when the IRS gets involved.

Yeah, just because you work for a nonprofit doesn’t mean you don’t pay income taxes.

Uncle Sam is going to want his cut of the employees paychecks.

And I wouldn’t be surprised to see the P5 Schools push the NCAA to increase the scholarship limit to 100, just so they can stock pile.

College football as we know it might be done within the next 10 years.

Everybody attacked me earlier this year when I said boosters should reconsider donating to the RCAF and instead contribute to NIL deals. Now maybe y’all can see what I’m seeing.

The game we are playing in has changed. We are no longer playing in an amateur sports league. This is pro ball now. If the team down the road is willing to pay players to play for them, the only way we beat them is if we pay too.

The RCAF is obviously necessary and important, but so is NIL.

Nah, scholarships don’t really matter anymore. If you get paid 100k as a walk on, why would you really care if you have to pay tuition?

This is going to absolutely kill us in sports where there are less scholarships than roster spots like baseball and softball. We sign lots of kids because we offer them a full when bigger teams will offer them less. But for 100k/yr at 18yrs old it will be really damn hard to turn down a spot on the bench at a G5 team.

    Terrible idea.

If RCAF shrinks there is no program.

RCAF is non-profit, just get a bunch of linemen to volunteer one weekend.

I wonder if players will mind hearing The Eyes of Texas are Upon You for 50k a piece. I also wonder what the running backs & D. line are going to think about this program. I'm not against paying players, but there has to be a limit. Can you say Title 9?

    This.

Putting all (hell, even half) the money in the players pocket wipes out the operating budget. Then players will _____ Bc we don’t have nice schit and can’t cater to their day-to-day needs.

Title IX has nothing to do with the money I’m paying someone to help sell my cars.
