Grambling O-line coach Bryant Ross is expected to become the new offensive line coach at Louisiana. A former staffer at Miss. State, Ross spent three seasons at the University of Louisiana as assistant offensive line coach under Billy Napier from 2018-2020. Ross will work with Louisiana OL coach Jeff Norrid. Under Norrid, this season the Ragin Cajuns averaged almost five yards per carry and had 34 rushing TDs--10th most in the country.

Did GSU have a dominating run game in the SWAC that I am unaware of? Looks to me like a good example of a hire when the coach has no network outside of La. He is coming from a fired failed staff.

How much talent did he have to work with? Did his OL improve during the course of the year? How good a recruiter is he? What kind of relationship does he have with his players? Billy Napier was fired. Bill Bellichek was fired. That in and of itself means nothing bb

He coached under Sale for 3 years and I think this is a good hire. He will work under Coach Norrid as an assistant O-Line coach. Coach Norrid will be retained by Des.

I’m sure his talent was equal to other swac schools talent.

So he left Louisiana as O line coach to go to GSU as online coach. I guess he saw that as a move up?

And you base this on what? He was there for one year. Evidently the staff was not successful. Maybe they recruited poorly and did not have equal talent. I don’t know. Do you?

I think he was an assistant OL coach. Believe he was a grad assistant at Miss. St.
