Not saying these guys won't work out, but our concerns about des not having ties outside UL look to be validated. I really would have liked to see Des hire one coach outside the UL tree

My only concerns are if they are good position coaches, can recruit, and will the players respond to them. I think if they can do that, then having previous ties to Louisiana is an asset.

Maybe we understand if he has coaching and salesmanship from the time he spent here. He’s certainly credentialed with NFL experience, and three college national championship rings. Those aren’t little things. Have you ever spent time with coaches? From high school to professional coaches I’ve never met one who couldn’t sell. I guess there’s some, but they’re not someone Maggard, Leger, and Des couldn’t spot as not having the skills.

In comparison to all other G5 and P5 programs where a coach has left for another job, only one looks worse on paper and that's Oklahoma. They've lost less staff, but more impact players.

Serious question. do you know this for sure or is it speculation on your part. Nothing wrong with speculating, and it does seem curious, but for those of us who know no one and nothing, it is good to be able to distinguish between speculation and fact as much as possible.
