And that’s in play with both BB coaches, and other FB coaches that may have become vested in the system. That’s why so many h/s coaches years ago wanted to jump directly to college in state. Big boost in average pay. Once vested, you can be like Viator.

Understand that. And maybe I am reading more into your post than you intended but I got the impression that you think Viator will simply be going through the motions rather than really being enthusiastic about his job.

Of course it is. And if he is burned out on recruiting but still likes to be around the technical aspects of the game, analyst seems like the perfect spot with his experience.

Would of posted earlier but the discussion got sidetracked. If you’re not familiar with this, it’s the retirement system for public schools, including universities.

Are analysts on the state payroll? If they’re paid by the Foundation, they are not paying into the state retirement system. But something just as valuable is taking place. They are earning paid quarters of Social Security. Coaches need that to supplement their retirement. So, being an analyst makes sense for Viator and other older coaches like him.

Does RCAF money count towards state retirement or only the part of salary paid by the state . . .

Great retirement system if you don’t mind making below going rate of most private employers. My wife is a LASERS retiree and is currently 2 years from retiring under the TRSL system at UL.

I thought someone posted that they were being hired as coaches and that Munoz was assistant head coach.
