How many times does one have to post the same differing opinion before it becomes whining? Many have been at it for 4 days now on the same subject. The subject of Des as HC is not new on this board anymore.

Even though some opinions may differ from mine, I still like to read posts of people expressing their feelings on Cajun Athletics. It’s how good conversations are often started.

I think some people on Ragin Pagin are clowns, but I don’t think I am so important that people come here to read how I feel about those clowns, so I keep it to myself and keep things on topic.

I understand the concern some people have with the coaching hire. I think we will be in good shape. Maggard wouldn’t risk his reputation on such an important hire.

But, if he doesn't call the plays as HC, who cares? Napier was one of the few HCs who called plays, and I don't think it was the best situation. He doesn't need to be an offensive or defensive genius. He needs to hire the offensive and defensive genius.

I don't think Bobby Bowden was a great Xs and Os man. Or Joe Paterno.

Billy told the Florida presser he’s going to call the plays on game day. He had lots of good things to say about UL.

Oh man, with the number of key players we will lose this year even Napier would have a hard time replicating this years success next year. All the naysayers will be ready to run Mike out of town if he loses 3 or more games next year.

Besides contacts to make OC, DC and S&C hire, my biggest question mark on Des was recruiting. This quote from Dr. Maggard in Kevin Foote's article is promising in that regard.

“We know what he does on the recruiting trail,” Maggard said. “He’s probably recruited more than a third of our roster. He is a tremendous recruiter when it comes to the state of Louisiana. He has great relationships with the high school coaches.”

Maybe not. Napier's recruits improved with every class. We should have some talent in the wings.

We do have some talent, but losing those studs on defense is going to hurt. There’s no way we replace that in one season.
