It Never ends , I know you know that !!!!
Process
Lol
It is looking more and more like Mike may be the one.
Ragin' Cajuns/Florida coach Billy Napier when asked if he has endorsed anyone to be his successor in Louisiana, and if so who that is: "I don't know that that's for public consumption." UL co-OC Michael Desormeaux is known to have interviewed and has much internal support.
It would be a mistake.
Haven’t read all of this thread, not sure if discussed.
Do we know if maggard is willing to take that risk from his point of view. We all hope he stays here for a while, but if he is positioning himself for his next big job, would
He risk hiring mike and it not working out. That would be a tough question to answer at his next interview if it doesn’t.
I’m with you.
Michael is a great guy, done alot for our university. I just don’t see how he can be considered. If we equate this to “regular” job, that’s like going from shop foreman to President. Who in their right mind would promote someone right over management positions and straight to head dog??
So who has made the decision that CMD was only the shop foreman in the last administration . . . Suppose CBN stands up and says CMD was as close to defscto HC in the last administration as there can be one . . . do we buy that or is that just like this board treated CBN’s choice of QB and plays called over his record winning tenure . . .
It doesn't matter who Napier recommends because he is leaving. I love him for what he has done here and appreciate his recommendations, but you should never let the guy walking out the door select his replacement. Period.
I TRUST DR. MAGGARD
Probably went something like this.
“ billy who on this staff is ready to take your place and keep things going”
Billy “ Mike D”
Dr M “thanks”
Fear the bird
He has another word
Only one candidate had a four year audition
Flying colors was the rendition
It easily could have ended with a result of exclusion
But in the end the needle was full inclusion
Only one candidate submitted to two interviews
CMD and CBN could not have provided any better reviews
It is now time for the victory bell to ring
And when it does CMD should be the thing
Me too... As long as Dr. Maggard added "I will take your recommendation under advisement." and meant it.
On the Great Scott show yesterday, Maggard stated that he had asked CBN for his recommendation and that it was one of many factors that he is considering in the hiring process. I believe that statement to be true.
