The honest answer to that is that everyone here would scratch their heads if we made that hire.

I think if Napier supported Leger instead of Des. People would be more reluctant of a Leger hire. Everyone here loves Des for all that he gave to the program (as do I). So I think people are more willing to accept a Des hire based on the goodwill he generated as a player and being a local guy.

Until about 8 PM Saturday night at the earliest, this is all keyboard jockeying. Got a heck of an important game in less than 48 hours. And Maggard is working, and what we’ve seen of the man, there is a probability he has made up his mind. Maggard knew this was coming, he’s not the reactive type of leader.

Sloan is from a Zombie LoTech dysfunctional program. Secondly he doesn’t know Sloan up close and personal. Billy and Maggard know exactly what Des has been doing to elevate his stock.

I’m not endorsing or nixing Des only saying Maggard has a unique relationship with him as does Billy.

It’s hard to replace a legend, but Billy wins conference and he’s going down as one in future rose colored glasses.

Do you remember a guy named Saban who called Maggard and said go after Napier. Napier is CMD’s Saban except it is a much better reference as CMD was with a Napier for 4 years.

So are you suggesting he has experience on defense? Most head coaches are proven coordinators on one side and hire someone for the other. Come on that was not a very smart statement with all due respect.
