If he doesn't insist on naming his own assistants, I don't want him. Meaning he would not be tough enough for the job.

Dr. Maggard sounded like he had a good handle on who he was looking at to replace Billy the other day. I hope he doesn't go for a retread though. There will be a LOT of guys like Dan Mullen who want in on what Billy has built so they can repair their reputation on Billy's dime, then leave the program gutted with no horses in the barn & none in the coral either.

Billy's gonna be tough to replace. But there are some really bright coaches & assistants out there.

Everyone thinks too much about what assistants he will take. The pool of coaches he has access to at Florida is much bigger than here.

Curious how many of the current FL staff will he keep. I believe the Interm coach will stay.

If you want an idea, look at the track record.

Dr. Maggard, regardless of the sport, has looked for the same qualities.

    A history of winning
    Reputation as a relentless recruiter.
    A person of integrity.
A person with a good moral compass.
Doesn't necessarily have to have head coaching experience.

Now, as we talk about a replacement, start with that. And, my money is on someone with a background as an offensive coach.

And, as far as names are concerned, the first time I ever heard the name Billy Napier was when it was reported he was offered the job.

Dr. Maggard knows exactly what he's looking for. I don't think this is going to be a long search.

Who is on your wish list? And do you think any of the current staff gets consideration?
