Same associations. But Kendal is the better coach.

Call it luck then. It is a crap shoot, but one could make an educated guess. I don't know how far ahead a team like FSU, or Texas is scheduled, but I would imagine about two to three years ahead. For instance, If I were trying to set a schedule, I'd try to get Florida next season when I know a young coach like Billy is going to have to clean some house & get his brand going. However I wouldn't want any part of a Florida team three, or four years from now. Another example would be a team like Oklahoma. They struggled with OOC opponents this season. And they're going into the SEC with a coach who just skipped town to get out of that kind of grief. They should be a huge target for an up & coming G-5 program. I would imagine an AD like Maggard would be looking at those kinds of things to predict the downfall of an FSU, or the future downfall of an OU.

So, just wanted to start a list of the names being thrown around the most:

Glen Schumann: d/c at Georgia. Another Saban student, young: 31
Dan Lanning: another co-d/c at Georgia
    Josh Gattis: o/c at Michigan
Pete Golding: Bama d/c, another Saban disciple
Patrick Toney: current d/c, the only insider being considered
Jay Johnson: QB coach, Michigan State
Doug Nussmeier: QB coach Dallas Cowyboys
Rob Sale: OL coach, NY Giants
Jeff Lebby: OC and QB coach, Ole Miss

So far I like Golding the best.....seems to be the most like CBN.....or Doug Nussmeier.

    Bama fans hate Golding.

I would think those UGA guys next jobs will be P5 head coaching jobs.

Nice list. I will say I have lots of Alabama friends who have been fans long before Saban and they cannot stand Pete Golding. I guess when you’re spoiled to perfection, good just ain’t good enough lol. Anyway I’d like to add Rob Sale to your list. It just makes too much sense for him to come home and finish what he and Billy started.

I thought I had Sale. I added him now.

Maybe Turbine cam do some magic and move the list, or sticky-it? That's what they did on tigger pooping and it made it nice to try to keep up with all of the potential candidates.

Based upon what empirical data do you know QB will be better? Fields has thrown what, 30 passes in his career. Sounds like back up quarterback syndrome. Look, I hope he is the greatest thing since Mitchell, but we just don’t know.

Not saying Golden won't be the guy, or isn't a candidate. But Iwas told by several former coaches that in their opinion he is not a fit in Lafayette.

I think they can be. The good thing about a Billy getting such a high profile job, it shows they can come here and move up quick.

Schumann is interesting to me bc he has been with Saben/Smart since he was 18. Known for being highly intelligent.
