For those who were unable or too young (maybe not yet born) to experience UL Basketball at Blackham in the late 60's until it all ended, they can't even imagine what that was like! Duke's Cameron indoor stadium would probably be considered tame compared to those days at Blackham! These are the glory days of UL football, but those were the glory days of UL basketball!
In many ways it was way better. Why? Really it’s about live vs TV. Yeah there was a select few televised basketball games in any given season, but you had to be there. That’s was true not only for USL, but almost anyone not named UCLA, Marquette, Houston, or UNC. We could also project our teams vs the top teams.
Back to the question posed in the title of this thread:
#MarlinMustGo
True 6 years ago- true (x6) TODAY!
‘Twas true In year two. But we’re stuck with him for the duration of the season.
I hate to say it, but I am DONE with watching/tracking/attending UL BB Games until we get someone other than Marlin.
Might be wrong to say that but it stresses me out too much.
Really. NS, my wife asks "why let that crap stress you out?"
She has a good point, and I dont really have a good reason my UL sports stresses me out so much.
Its just part of being a fan.....
Memories….
Blackham. Alonzo’s dunk fest, they only caught 2 of the big 3, didn't get the 180. Got the bounce dunk and 360. Forgot how many dunks he had in that game.
Note how many tickets were left for sale for the next home game against Marquette. Yeah, they sold.
