I make it a point to wear red on game days, home or away. Went to Fat Pats before the game and I was the only one wearing red. That says a lot about what the population thinks of the UL.
I hear you, which is why I stated the Cajuns are way down the priority list. Esquelito is right, fans don’t give a ____ about UL.
People spend their money how they would like and that’s great, how many $10 ticket deals were available for Cajuns games this year? Serious question how much is one season ticket, I live far away so I don’t know?
CBN is a boring mother ____er. I'm sorry but it is what it is. Let the dude hit the road. He will be fired in a few years. We need young and exciting or old and exciting. CBN in neither despite Scaerd Money......he is boring and not good at play calling. Hence crappy crowds a Cajun Field. Hud was different. He brought the goods that made people excite. And it sucks to say so. Wining barely against crappy teams = Billy Napier.
Lafayette bourgeois like the new and shiny. Maybe if we promoted a new restaurant and bar opening up at Cajun Field’s address, people would show up.
That was only one of the criteria. We’re still considered minor league, fun to go tailgate at a buddy’s spot but leave before the game or watch another game on TV, good to go party at NO bowl game, but not a fan enough to show up at games or even buy and wear Ragin’ Cajun gear, but glad to wear the purple and gold even when they never attended the school. We have great 3 years of wins, but win ugly more than any team I can remember. Simply Acadiana area does not revere the Cajuns…yet.
Guys look. This is my first football game since ULM 2019. Football tickets aren’t $10 no more. That is frivolous spending in our house. I either need to have a good reason for spending that much or better have had a good month in the bank. I haven’t recovered financially since the O&G went bust in 2015. Don’t forget that last year, oil actually fell out of market on the last contract day of the month and many people were in deep since then. We look to medical and tech to start fattening Lafayette, but the cost of living (not just at the pump, but groceries) are eating the “extra” money that we all used to have at the end of the bill paying cycle.
