One day, when he leaves, people here will give in and face that this is really the paramount factor in what his decision may be. If he feels that staying here now and not jumping on whatever is out there now it will be because, in HIS mind, the process has a better likelihood of happening at this time by staying and waiting for something else to develop. All the other things discussed here are mere red herrings in the process.
The ten year contracts are for the coaches not the universities. My first recollection of a ten year deal was Tim Floyd at LSUNO. I knew then it wasn’t actually to keep Tim there as to guarantee a lifetime of higher income. He left for Iowa State a couple years later. The ten years never keeps them from getting a better gig.
