I don't think the money will be the reason Napier stays or leaves. He wants to win Nattys

One day, when he leaves, people here will give in and face that this is really the paramount factor in what his decision may be. If he feels that staying here now and not jumping on whatever is out there now it will be because, in HIS mind, the process has a better likelihood of happening at this time by staying and waiting for something else to develop. All the other things discussed here are mere red herrings in the process.

10 year deals seem to be keeping these coaches. You know Dr Maggard will at least try this before Napier goes. Not sure if we can afford 4 million a year(Jesus money) though.

If Napier goes, Dr Maggard should be congratulated in finding this great coach. Not FL, LSU, or VT.

Freeze is damaged goods. He is in the "Scratches and dent" section. He is perfect for the job he has. I don't believe the SEC schools would take a chance on him again. Good on him for a pretty nice rehab.

The ten year contracts are for the coaches not the universities. My first recollection of a ten year deal was Tim Floyd at LSUNO. I knew then it wasn’t actually to keep Tim there as to guarantee a lifetime of higher income. He left for Iowa State a couple years later. The ten years never keeps them from getting a better gig.
