…..Big question…..who does Nap take and who wants to stay??? Des think he wants to stay….same Leger, maybe Juluke, maybe Sale back as OC and line or Head Coach…..not even guessing on the def staff but they have done a great job for not being together too long……l wonder what Nap would get paid but also assistant coaches……worried about those COVID Jrs that can hit the road for whatever reasons…..can someone post a starting lineup? The3 RBs back, the5-8 WRs, new Qb, losing some OL goodones

Sale won't come back for anything other than HC. He is in the NFL. He may not want to leave that situation regardless of a HC opportunity. No recruiting and pension after a few years is available to guys in the league. I agree the local guys probably want to stay but that is not their call. If we have a change, the new coach will want some of his own guys. Being an assistant in the college ranks is a tougher life than most realize.

In all seriousness, if I was running the show, Rob Sale would be my number 1 choice. I would have told him that when he left for the NFL, it would only be temporary as he would be the next head coach of the Ragin Cajuns when Billy moved on.

Rob Sale and Patrick Toney are fantastic coaches and have done well for the Cajuns in their respective positions, but they both don't really have the experience to take over as HC. That would be my concern.

Billy also had never been a Head Coach before coming to UL and that worked out pretty good!

However, Napier was offensive coordinator at 2 P5 schools, and QB, TE, and WR coach at others. So, he had tons more experience. That is who I'm comparing too actually.

Rob Sale was Billy’s right hand man for years. He knows the process inside and out. It’s a no brainer.
