Early morning storms hit one business owner in Opelousas hard. St. Landry Parish was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning this morning and the storm rolled in around 6:50am. Quality Portable Buildings lost nearly half its inventory. Buildings were tossed across the feild some moved more than 200 feet, other buildings were crushed in there path. Large steal coverings flew crushing buildings along the way. A few houses close to the business showed some minor damage but certainly the hardest hit were the buildings. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles investiagted for I possible Tornado but early results show a Micro Burst. Winds this morning were estimated near 100mph. A weak EF0 Tornado has sustained winds of 72mph. The clean up began imediatly and the business remains open.
