Curious to see if Stevie P. will be able to call softball this season?

We consider Steve to be an integral part of our broadcasts. The basketball and softball coaches both agree.

But Steve needs to make a living. His job status will have everything to do with his future on the broadcasts. But I can tell you he'll be behind the mic for all women's basketball broadcasts through the end of 2021, with possible exception of the "Education Game' against LSU-S.

Kevin Foote has a show on 103.7 FM. Show goes from 9 to 11 AM. As he is the Acadiana Advocate beat writer for the Cajuns, he discusses their teams frequently. He has sideline reporter Cody Junot on every Wednesday for example. He also discussed the Tuesday Cajuns basketball game in depth on Wednesday morning. You can get a 103.7 app on your phone and listen that way.

KPEL 1420 AM is now ESPN Lafayette. They also air on 103.3 FM now. Regarding Cajuns, Scott has Coach Napier on every Monday morning at 7:15. I imaging the basketball coaches will take that slot after football. During baseball season, you may want to listen to Brad Topham which is now at 3 on ESPN Lafayette.

I like Foote’s show and listen often but it used to be so nice to have about four hours or so of Cajuns talk with Stevie P. and Foote. I’d occasionally tune into Billy if I wanted the status of the moon that evening. I can listen to Brad too. It’s just not the same.

Right now, the plan is for him to call softball as long it does not interfere with his day job. Also, we will be doing women's basketball and softball, and if there is a conflict, he will be on women's basketball.

Depends on where he will be working come January.

I understand this but why wouldn't a company want to support his extra curricular activity? Though they might not get actual on air publicity, I'm sure the people on RP would know who his employer is and would spread the word bringing them good karma and business.

And just the opposite if the company would forbid or not work with Steve P. schedule to let him call the games. Bad karma and less business.

So you see, it would benefit the company to play nice.
