How refreshing it was to listen to the state of our program as described by our great AD.

It looks like many here need to listen well to what he has to say because it paints a totally different picture than the portrait generally painted here.

Kudos to our AD and all of our athletic programs discussed here by him and to those who generally paint a similar portrait here of our athletics programs as you heard from Dr Maggard in this podcast.

To the others with cheese in their mouths, it may be prudent to listen attentively and learn a little bit . . .

Unlike you, I heard everything I've heard here. The key difference being, on the podcast I heard it from a person in authority.

I know the quote you had to love "focus on the letter not the number." I think he was paraphrasing you.

I appreciate his admitting his inexperience when it came to basketball scheduling.

Yesterday I sat down for about 40 minutes with Dr. Maggard and we covered a variety of topics.

(In no particular order)

1. Where we stand with Cajun Field renovations?
2. The process of adding teams to the Sun Belt Conference
3. Will the new teams conceivably join by next season?
4. What is the likelihood the Cajuns go to one of the five bowls contracted to the SBC?
5. His thoughts on Commissioner Gill.
6. Basketball scheduling
7. Football scheduling.
8. The SBC championship game
9. Having nine nationally televised games
10. The status of LR/UTA
11. Can anything be done about the number of home midweek games we have in one season.

I have plenty. However it may appear to be nothing from one who listened without intellectual honesty. Dr. Maggard addressed almost everything in the kitchen sink, much of which is discussed here from time to time with a complete slant towards bietching. If you can't find it, you not listening. That is ok, however such naivety will keep this place predominately a large bietch session one day after another. Lots of cheese to process and crow to eat.

Please be intellectually honest and give Jay the credit for asking the hard questions and soliciting answers to much of what is complained about here.
