  1. Default Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball Gets The Win In Season Opener

Louisiana Men's Basketball took the court tonight to start the 2021-2022 season. The Cajuns had lost some members from last year's squad, specifically Cedric Russell. So all eyes were on the Cajuns to see how they would handle said losses. Well, they handled it beautifully as the Cajuns start the season off with a win!

It may be Division II, but you could tell that everyone of those players were tickle pink to still have an opportunity to play a game that they love and for that you need to give it to them.

It was actually entertaining last night as it should be. We have size and speed. They’re still growing. Was good to see people back. No more people spread out all over the dome. Maggard and Lee making personal contacts with boosters at halftime. Students came out, end zone was as full as it’s been in a very long time. Band would of been nice, sure there’s a protocol to work out there…or goes away after the semester is over. Definitely a better product than the last 2 years. We’ll learn more Friday night.

Isaiah Richards looked much bigger (strength wise) then last year.

I saw that Carter Domingue got 5 minutes. Wasn't their much speculation that he would redshirt?

I think the game last night was classified as an exhibition.

And one thing for sure, the whistle will be heard a whole lot more Friday than last night. Refs pretty much swallowed the whistles last night.

It was not, it was a win on our schedule. It counts as a regular season game, not an exhibition.

Brown is a stud. We are huge, and in an athletic way not usually associated with our level. Our outside shooting (at least based upon last night) is a concern for sure. Other than the sheer, obvious talent we have it is hard to judge anything from last night as West Florida was absurdly out manned. However, I have high hopes based solely on our obvious talent level.

I am happy that a nice group of students showed up last night, but is it too much to ask for a little bit of excitement from that group? That has to be the most disinterested student section in America. Might as well be cardboard cutouts. The new strength and conditioning coach had to provide the energy from the end of the bench, and he did a heck of a job.

I throughly enjoyed watching the game as the whistles rarely blew. It was a breath of fresh air. I think we will be pretty good this year.

Are you going by Covid (off by a lot) numbers or 2019?

Absolutely, me and Chuck were commenting about that during the game last night. The officiating crew was great! Bring them back every game, please.

I noticed one ref reported a flopping call to scores table.
