I agree with you though... we'll see how things shake out after all these moving parts are finally done.
As long as it’s not a short week for the Thursday night game then yeah it’s ok.

That would require either (a) back to back breaks of 12 and 9 days or (b) two weekday games in a row . . . do we really want either of those?

So Coastal, App, UL would get 13.43% each, stAte and SouthAl would get 11.29%, and GS, GSU, Troy, Tx St, and ULM get 7% each. Note that currently the 10 teams split it evenly and get 10% each. So us, Coastal, and App would get close to 3.5% above our typical media distribution percentage which would help lessen the loss of gameday revenue from the non-Saturday games.
    Love this idea.

Agree also. The teams being marketed by ESPN on weeknights is good for the conference, in even the individual schools by getting our names out there; but at a cost of lost weekend game revenues and our fan base. There should definitely be a way to balance that loss. No different than bowl participants getting more revenue to cover added expenses as opposed to teams staying home during bowl season.
It’s not like you are rewarding the teams, it more so off setting expenses or lost revenue.

That sounds like a good idea now, but what happens if UL has a few years where we are not a desirable team to be placed in those games? We might not have the same opinion at that time!

Due to the cyclical nature of success at the G-5 level, leave it alone. I’d hope we’d never be Texas State/ULM desirable, but it happens. Obviously we have a brand and culture people want to see. Isn’t that our objective?

Notice the common thread of those with one game…a road game. Be thankful. I get it, Saturdays are great for the fans. Success comes with a price.

And I'm fine with that. Let the teams that are carrying the conference with winning football get more money for losing Saturday home games. If the athletics department doesn't like the drop in revenue, then put a product on the field that is worthy of being televised.

Also, those percentages were just something I threw out. They can be modified with a bigger "pool" number of 80%, and then the weekday game split is only 20%. Meaning less disparity between the 6 Saturday game group and the <6 Saturday game group.

Just so you know that in the last 10 seasons, we have only gone two years (2015, 2018) where we did not host a non-Saturday game. If we truly believe in what Billy is building here, then as fans we should expect to be a desirable team going forward, and hold our athletics department accountable if we are not.

Here we go. There it is. When you are good, you play midweek on TV and sometimes your Saturday games are moved to 11:00.

Who wants the alternative, where you earn cheese biietching about how bad we are?

    Texas
    Ohio
    App
    Arky State
    Texas State
    Georgia State
    Liberty
    Conference Title Game
    Bowl Game

That's NINE games on linear television networks. (and ULM is still on the table.)
Somebody thinks we are really good.
