Was this private?
No it was not private as it was an exhibition. Pre season scrimmages against other D1 teams are private unless charity is involved. Exhibitions against non D1 teams are open to the public. Those follow real game formats. On the men's side, we have chosen to have 2 scrimmages in recent years vs exhibitions. That was not always the case but approach changed about four years ago. Rules can be adjusted by agreement of coaches in the scrimmages and on court coaching can occur. Gary has a different approach. He believes the actual game format better is a better way to help prepare for the season. That may be because the talent discrepancy between non D1 and D1 is less in the women's game.
Is there a less PC name in all of sports that the Lady Choctaws?
I am tempted to send a donation to help defray the cost of future lawsuits.
