Was it just me or did it seem that the officials just did not want to throw a flag on Georgia State. They held all night long, obvious holds right in front of officials. Several times they clocked our players in the facemask or pushed them down after the play, sorry no foul. And of course the phantom block in the back on the punt return for TD, third time this year the officials have called back long return on phantom call. If someone falls down on the field it was automatic block in the back. I coached for 40 years and had most high school crews that were better than the Sun Belt officials. But, most important, the W. Congrats to the Cajuns on huge win to clinch the West.

Georgia State is legit. That’s a better football team than y’all know. They play us hard every year, with an attitude. Last year we went to overtime in their stadium before winning. We are 6-0 against them, and they take it personally. Their current coaching staff makes sure they know this.
Why doesn’t Levi throw it up on 4th and goal??? Really?? Have we never seen a 100 yard pick 6. And if it happened y’all would have his head. Levi can’t win with most of y’all.
Good win. Tough game. My biggest suprise was giving up so many yards right up the centers butt all night and not being able to do it ourselves.
And we had a short week to prepare. The people complaining on this board just don't understand football. They want a blowout every game, regardless of the opponent or the underlying conditions. This was one of Napier's best games. Never got up or down and just stayed the course.
I was at the game last night. Thought I had worn enough layers to keep warm. I was so wrong. Actually thought about leaving at half. Glad I stayed. Moved at halftime to a larger group of fans (which was actually hard to find unfortunately) to get more body heat around us. Glad I stayed.
I know posted attendance was 16k+, but if there was 7k there last night, I would be shocked. I know the conditions were not favorable....week night, freezing cold, on TV......but people are going to be truly upset that they did not go support Billy Napier and the product he has put on the field. He is a quality act and so are his teams. There is no reason why this stadium should not have had at minimum 25k tonight and 40k on the last home game of the season. We are seeing history being made here folks.
55 degrees ain't cold...but the wind..bruh...face it, UL fans are just soft. Lots left at halftime, those who stayed were into the game big-time.
Trust me it felt so much colder, but it might have been just me. Oh and props to the band. That was probably the best they have played all year. They were very involved last night and sounded great.
And the free food and drink before the game with Atchafalaya playing, that alone should have brought 30k out last night. Wish I knew who catered the food, but it was amazingly good. People really missed out on an all around great outing.
That was awesome. HAHA.
Father dancing despite GA State's TD gave us the spark we needed! It's divine!
The Good Lord gave Father Pellessier the wisdom (Our Lady of Wisdom is on UL's campus) to know that the good guys were going to win. He just had to do his best to keep our students in the game!
1st half......fugly. But for those who loved defense, still fugly.
2nd half was incredibly entertaining football. Gutwrenching hell at times for UL fans..... but this 2nd half was freaking awesomeness to watch.
You know...this game thread wasn't quite as bad as I was thinking last night it would be. Good job, guys.
And no BS here, when GA State scored that TD, my mother who was at the game texted that it appeared half the fans were up and leaving the stands. My reply was they should be ashamed when we win.
The whole time watching last night, only time I yelled at the TV was the block in the back call, and then the refs then got offended that one of our coaches called him out on the BS call. Other than that, I chilled with my beers, leaning back against the couch, because I knew this team had the coaches, players and overall character to make sure that when the game ended, the good guys would have the most points.
That's how I've decided to view this season. Would we like to see them blowout teams they're supposed to blowout? Sure. But we've won 8 straight, no matter how ugly it may look at time. 8-1. Only loss is to a Big 12 team (which has tons of talent, IMO, but can't close games). It's fun watching your team win 8 straight football games.
