The C-USA champ was automatically sent to the Liberty Bowl until 2018, so I doubt it.

Sugar Bowl used to invite 2 SEC teams often and LSU played Tennessee in the Bluebonnet bowl in the 70s.

ESPN controls the bowls. They can make it happen if they want to. It would make for an outstanding closing game for the opening weekend of bowl season. This year the NOLA bowl is at 8 CT

LSU also played Ole Miss in the sugar the season Billy won the Heisman trophy on the Halloween punt return. Ole Miss stomped them on that return game.

So it was legal in the past for sure.

I wouldn’t mind playing the Road runners again as they are a top of CUSA. It would just be financially stupid to play another Sunbelt Conference member. It would jeopardize bowl pay out money alone.

This is my only reservation about playing nUTSAck. If they were any other CUSA school, I'd be all for it. But we've playing them more recently than we've played Coastal. lol

I want (1) whatever is good for the Cajuns, (2) whatever is good for the conference. If App taking another loss and finishing 9-3 allows Coastal a trip to Cajun field, perhaps that is what is needed. App is currently receiving votes, so losing another game is detrimental to their ranking. Either way, Geaux Cajuns.

I think there is a good possibility of the champions of the SBC and CUSA playing each other in a bowl game. However, you must remember that ESPN owns most of the bowls now and will look for good matchups that help their TV ratings.
