Fans of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team will get their first chance to see the 2022 squad when its hosts Northwestern State in an exhibition game at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., and admission is free.
Louisiana, which finished 32-23 last season and claimed the Sun Belt Conference West Division title, competes in the first of two fall scrimmages as it faces Northwestern State (27-26 in 2021). The Ragin' Cajuns close out fall practice on Nov. 14 when it travels to face LSU at Alex Box Stadium.
The Ragin' Cajuns return 16 letterwinners, led by top returning hitters Connor Kimple, Carson Roccaforte, Bobby Lada and Tyler Robertson. Returning pitchers Austin Perrin, Hayden Durke, Brandon Talley and Jacob Schultz will hold key roles for Louisiana with newcomers Tommy Ray and Drew Shifflet will look to crack the weekend rotation.
