Because there was absolutely no need for the 7 minutes of angst associated with the call and taking our great defense out of the rhythm they had going at the time. Not sure if you guys noticed how peeved Napier was during that period of wait and see if the officials were going to do the right thing.

I seems the new practice is to review any great hit made by a defender. It is yet another thing that slows down games and makes them less compelling to watch.
