If for nothing else, you have to listen to the TJ Wisham story during the Tucker interview. Amazing stuff

    ULumni Association suggestion:

Let "former students" keep their Louisiana.edu email address for life.

If that creates a software discount cunundrum, there needs to be a similar permanent connection solution.

If something permanent already exists, promote it.

This is something that the AA and Foundation board has asked for but is not something any of those offices has control over. The implementations of allowing students to keep their @louisiana.edu email address falls under the office of University Advancement.

    "Man I Tell You What"

    EPIC!

Fits right in with why I think every homecoming should be on Thanksgiving Day at 11am, just like back in the day.

What's their reason for saying no?

Didn’t exactly say no. Supposedly looking into it but don’t know how much of a priority it is. Sounds like one of the issues/concerns is network security and ability to host a large number of users. Will continue to push for it.

And for us USL old timers, we didn't need no stinking email....

Sounds about right. That's the same answer I got when I had SGA push for it in 2006.

I'm not an IT guy, but I strongly suggest that it's very doable. Lots of other universities do it.

If I’m not mistaken, the school to the East may do that.

Just wanted to say what a amazing testimony at the end. I feel the same way I went to school back in the 90’s. Was a junior when we beat Texas A&M . I was the miracle story when I went to USL now UL. I did’nt go to high school dropped out in the 9th grade went back got my GED. Then after that one of my friends dad told me that go and take the entrance exam and by some miracle made a 18 and was accepted to go to USL at the time. Thank GOD for pell grants to pay for school with a lot of hard work was blessed to receive my degree in 2001. Took longer than most students but don’t care what I thought was an impossible dream became a reality and love my Louisiana with all my heart for giving me a chance twenty years ago. Just wanted to share how much I love and appreciate my university and my blessings that I received.

Great Story and I too dropped out of HS after football season of my senor year. Took the GED a few months later, then the ACT, and then to USL.
5+ years later, I graduated, went to Law School, then the USMC, now NASA. Retired from USMCR after 35 years yesterday. IT CAN BE DONE. Yours sounds much more difficult then my path though. CONGRATULATIONS
