There's still a way to make this fun for the fans.
    Are those options being discussed?

We talked about this extensively on the latest episode of RR, so I won’t belabor the point. The big problem with moving the time for kickoff is screwing the AA, the various groups that plan this day a year in advance, the out of town alumni that travel with specific plans months in advance, the parade, the Greek & student events, etc. Doesn't help that we already sacrificed 2-3 weekends of tailgating and Cajun football for TV games. Or that November has what, 1 home game in it? We can’t scold Acadiana for not “buying in” when their game day experience has been severely crippled and their tailgating opportunities have been limited for years.

Like we said in the pod, diehards are not the issue. We can’t court a new generation of “die hards” with these schedules and game day experiences.

Or just play the game at 4 like always LOL.

I rarely complain about game times because I understand the ramifications of getting on TV, but this is one of those instances where I'll say that ESPN gave us the short end of the stick. Like MAT mentioned earlier, this puts a damper on HC planned events that have been prepared almost a year in advance plus it'll affect attendance badly. It's Texas State at 11 AM on ESPNU. Unfortunately, I highly doubt people will be running to their TV's to watch this game. And the ones who do will see a much emptier stadium.

No influence today. However letting our administrators know it is not being received well may allow them to address certain items in the next TV negotiations. Perhaps we could get an agreement that no more than 2 home games could be moved to midweek and homecoming game time had to remain at our chosen time. Granted there is nothing we can do about this in short term.

You are absolutely right, it can be done, and I like your ideas.

I also remember how Krew-De-Chew being the only tailgate group willing to break out the hardware after the game.

This would take a monumental mind shift for it to happen.

Exactly SBC offices have more pull than schools. Admin need bring this up to Gill and they won't if they are not getting blow back

This is the problem with the "After Tailgate".

Tailgating without alcohol is basically a church BBQ.

Most of us professional tailgaters who have built the legendary tradition of Cajun Tailgating spend the day cooking some of the most delectable food on the planet and crushing Nattys or whatever is your favorite cocktail or beer.

We use the game to sober up. There can be no imbibing after the game if you're driving. Also, it gets dark now at 630. So, don't act like simply moving the tailgate also moves the party. All you are doing is moving the church BBQ.

Hangout in an empty parking lot at 3 seems like great fun.. most will just head to a bar or house party after the game
