Y’all need to look at it a different way. How many people will be watching that game at 11 on Saturday? 1 million, 2 million ? That’s like that many people going to the game and exposing the university to that many people. I understand because I have a job that works all hours and all days and on call 24/7?
The fanbase needs to adjust ! I don’t agree but it’s what is best for the university
One thing I never considered before 2 weeks ago. Sports betting, I went to paragon the past 2 Saturdays and bet on all the televised 11 o'clock games. You will definitely get more Louisiana/Texas eyes on the Cajuns being on ESPNU as more and more sports betting areas open up.
I would suspect that even if they did, it would carry little weight if any. Each week ESPN looks ahead a couple of weeks and makes its decisions based upon the happenings thus far this year and the expected viewership from the games available to them. It will not be based upon:
1. Whether it is homecoming for the home team
2. How many games either of the teams played on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday this year (except to see if there was a good viewership from showing one of those teams on a weekday previously)
3. How it will affect tailgating or if there is even tailgating.
4. How the stadium will look re: attendance
And on and on.
