Having a less than optimal crowd at the game to support them on homecoming is one way

This will be the fourth time this season we give it up for the Conference.

I've asked it before....Do we get a bigger cut of the Sunbelt contract than the toehr schools that get to play on Saturdays?

Or do ULM and Texas State get the same percentage as us?

    Just really disappointing.
…….Well another mess up is to the planned reunions like all the guys that played for Coach Faulkinberry……l guess all the academic and social gatherings will also get messed up with many out of Towners trying to get here!

Look I was discussing this with an App State friend of mine recently. This is the downfall of being a better than average G5 football team. If we were terrible or below average, the only national television games we would get would be when we play the upper tier of the SBC games other than that we would be on Saturday but finishing at or near .500. Being the App, Coastal, UL and even to some extent traditionally strong Arkansas State, they are going to try to put us on national TV when they can. The more you win, the more you get screwed by ESPN because ESPN owns when you play if you are the better of the SBC teams. I hate that we play on Tuesdays, Wednesday's, Thursday's, Saturdays @ 11 AM, but I love this allot more than playing at 7PM on Saturday nights and being 4-8. or playing on Thursday night because we are playing Coastal or App but we are 4-8. Does it suck, yes, is it better than the alternative, 1000%. As a fan base, we need to make sure we show up whenever, wherever and whomever we play. You do that enough and you will start getting the respect we need. Programs like ours, to get recognized, need to play these games and get some of those people who are not familiar with UL, familiar with UL and if it takes a midweek or Saturday morning game to do it, SO F'N BE IT.

Just wake up earlier and start tailgating earlier. Lots of teams have that kickoff time and still have great fan support. I have sympathy for the argument against home games on a week night but the argument of an early kickoff seems a little silly to me.

Make it a Bloody Mary or mimosa tailgate, have fun, watch the Cajuns win and you get home early enough to head to Home Depot for a nice Saturday.

I go of Facebook every home game IMPLORING folks to go see these young cats personally see the best football team in the State of Louisiana and these poor kids get to play in front of an announced 20k if we're lucky.

I just think the players would dig on a full house.

I love Dr. Maggard, but it's hard to come early, be loud, and stay late with these times.

So yes, I'm also being selfish.

Do we get a bigger cut?

I work weird hours and I can tell you, on my day off after a full night's sleep my body slows down at the same time as the work days.

Moving my schedule around is not good for productivity.

This team would perform better if every game was a Louisiana Saturday Night game.

Drop the condescending attitude. You need some perspective outside of being a PxP guy.

    1) 3 of the 6 home games were already on "national TV". And yes the quotes are intentional because ESPNU isn't available on every cable package.
    2) Prior to this change 5 of the first 9 games were on "national TV". This makes 6 of 9 now. The only one with a kickoff on a Saturday afternoon was in Austin, TX. At some point there needs to be some balance between selling out to ESPN and reinvigorating the local fan base.
    3) The last 3 years have been the best Cajuns football teams, record-wise, in forever, and yet we have not had a single home game come close to cracking the top 15 in attendance. The fan base, including the bandwagoners, that showed up in droves during the early 2010's and to those first few NO bowls have never really been given an opportunity to be reengaged. Granted Covid restrictions in 2020 has played a part, but do we need to continue to compound that problem?
    4) And for those who paid for tailgating spots, which I have a strong feeling you don't qualify, it is somewhat important to the gameday experience. It is also money wasted. And for businesses with spots, it's a lost opportunity to entertain clients.

I'm happy because I can actually go to the game and bring the family too. Yes, I would have missed it due to neighborhood trick or treating that night. No, I would not have won that argument.

I totally get the opinions on the times and the schedule. We're all over the place and as much as we understand why this happens and often times how little the University can do about it, your casual fans do not. Make no mistake, limited Saturday games or time changes are actually reasons some casual fans have told me as reasons why they don't go to UL games anymore.

If it were any other year, I'd be mad too. Homecoming at 11 am really stinks. At least it's a Saturday.

Well, maybe Maggard will wave his magic wand and declare post game trick or treating a thing at Cajun Field. Game over 3-3:30...get to tailgate spot, start up the bar-b-que. Eat supper, kids trick or treat at CF. Sounds like good marketing out of a not so great situation.

The P-4s get moved around constantly. Refineryville "loves" 11 AM kickoffs too.

How many of those teams have had 1 Saturday game since the season started ..oh just us

Maggard should get hammered for this and rightfully so.
