I think Saturday morning, if attendance is decent, has the potential to an issue logistically.

I'd get together with LCG and shut down Congress from Bertrand to Cajundome Blvd for thru traffic; it would only be used for entry to Cajun Field.

Traffic diverted to Johnston and Devalcourt/Eraste Landry to get around the Congress.

Mad push by the Program for cheap tickets and free parking on Congress and at Blackham.

    A boy can dream.

The fanbase needs to adjust ! I don’t agree but it’s what is best for the university
Not on ESPNU. It is an add on channel. If it were ESPN2 or ESPN then absolutely, but we should never change a game time for ESPNU.

Homecoming was moved to 11 am on espnu last year as well. I know it was a little different because of covid but it’s something we will just have to get used to.

One midweek home game a season is one thing but this season is ridiculous. That's not good unless you're happy with 15k average attendance for one of our best teams ever. Most on this board will be there regardless but it's the "casual fans" that make the difference in having large crowds on a regular basis.
This. People here need to understand that our “diehards” came in smaller numbers than we would like.

With game being moved I can bring all of my grandkids to the game. Early start means you can still do things Saturday afternoon and night. Makes a big difference with an 11:00 am game in Late October rather than Early September. Tailgating will suffer but there is nothing we can do but make the best of it.

Tailgating doesn't have to suffer. Game is over by 230. Many don't get there til then anyway. Tailgate after the game. Move the scheduled band to after the game. Open Russo Park with all the TV sets after the game.

There's still a way to make this fun for the fans.

    Are those options being discussed?

We talked about this extensively on the latest episode of RR, so I won’t belabor the point. The big problem with moving the time for kickoff is screwing the AA, the various groups that plan this day a year in advance, the out of town alumni that travel with specific plans months in advance, the parade, the Greek & student events, etc. Doesn't help that we already sacrificed 2-3 weekends of tailgating and Cajun football for TV games. Or that November has what, 1 home game in it? We can’t scold Acadiana for not “buying in” when their game day experience has been severely crippled and their tailgating opportunities have been limited for years.

Like we said in the pod, diehards are not the issue. We can’t court a new generation of “die hards” with these schedules and game day experiences.
