Only way I'd want to add Tech is if we go to 14 teams, I'm pretty happy with 12, but I think the SBC has a great opportunity right now to get teams from C-USA. I think if we were to go to 14 LA Tech would be the best West addition after Southern Miss. I'd love to hear a better option other than sliding over Troy to the West and adding 3 Eastern teams.

I can't, because that is the best option. Unless of course we could have convinced UTSA or possibly UAB, but since that did not happen the best move for the SBC (if they go to 14) is to move Troy over to the West and then add 2 new teams to the East to go with current group minus Troy and add Marshall.

I like Western Kentucky for basketball purposes, I miss the old BBall rivalry, but I don't think they move the needle for football and we would still be looking at an empty visitors section at Cajun Field. I don't have any issue with former SBC schools, let them eat crow and come back if they want. I guess I just don't have the loyalty to the SBC that some of you all of sudden have since the AAC is going a different direction based on tv markets. I don't blame them one bit for trying to improve their programs situation 8 years ago.

That isn't true, but have you been to the Cajundome lately? Regardless, another reason LA Tech would be a good addition. Our basketball and baseball games will be good for the fans.

Vannini reporting ODU and JMU are real candidates for SBC expansion. So add 3 eastern schools and move Troy west is actually good intel I’ve been getting.. Twists and turns!

WKU and MT and the MAC would do themselves right by aligning together. MAC would become better, WKU and MT would join a better conference then the CUSA at the moment and the good news is that La Tech, UTEP, ODU and FIU would have to figure it out for themselves. We could then grab JMU and ODU and move Troy to the West. All good and all done.

While they haven't been to the NCAA since they left the Sun Belt they won a 1st round NIT game last year and went to the NIT Final Four 3 years ago. I remember them knocking off a few top 25 teams in recent years too. Certainly not up to the standards of their fanbase but I wouldn't call that irrelevant. I would love to rekindle that rivalry in Basketball, I'm certain their fanbase would remember the 6th man and the logo dancing.
