    Ah forgot that our lone loss was OOC. Usually good for a conference loss every year so I brain farted

    The tie break scenario only comes into play with teams that haven’t played head to head. There’s only 1 team from the other division that each team doesn’t play every year. This year happens to be CC for us. That’s the only reason it matters. If they win out and we win out it goes to rankings. Anything else other than happens and rankings don’t matter.

    We’d be undefeated in conf, we’d host

    Why don't the teams play every other team each year and play nine conference games? Seems fairer.

    I’d like 9 conference games.
    1- “money game”
    1- peer non conference
    1- fcs

    I don't know if it's still the case, but at least some teams scheduled two money games and need two homes games, thus only eight conference games.

    Although not a huge deal, teams hosting 5 conference games have an advantage over teams with only 4 conference home games if there were a 9 game schedule.

    So, although there are still a lot of games to be played, and we need to take each one as they come…..it seems very unlikely that we do not host the CCG at cf. Since we beat app, even if we lose more conf games than they do, we still host. But if CCU wins out the east, and has fewer L’s than us, since we have not played them than it is possible we go there…provided they are still ranked higher than us. Right?

    I don't think head-to-head trumps overall conference record.

    If we win out, we host. Ranking does not come into play.

    If Cajuns, app, and coastal all have one conference loss. I think app wins the east over coastal with the head to head. Then we host because the head to head over app. So we could lose 1 game. But we can’t lose it to tx state and have them win out. They would then have the tie breaker over us.

    But just suppose that App does not win out, and CCU does win the east? Since we do not play CCU in regular, and assuming that we both have 1 loss, would not ranking come into play? Here is what the official SBC rules say:

    1. Head to head result between tied teams;

    2. If still tied, if one team was ranked in the latest available CFP Selection Committee rankings and wins in the final weekend of the conference regular season, it will be declared the host. If in that same scenario, the team that was the highest-ranked team in the latest available CFP Selection Committee rankings loses in the final weekend of the conference regular season, a composite average of selected computer rankings will be used to determine the host;

    3. If there are multiple teams ranked in the latest available CFP Selection Committee rankings, the highest-ranked team that wins in the final weekend of the conference regular season will be declared the host;

    So of course, if Appy wins out there is no question; I've never been more of an App fan then now.

    Overall conference record trumps ranking.

    We control our own destiny.

    If we

    we host.

    LaCajunsFan those are the tiebreakers.

    However if one team has the better conference record, the two teams are not tied.
