NEW PIER LOOKING GOOD: The new pier south of the Lake Arthur City Hall has been refurbished, painted, and is now operational. The pier allows small boats to dock that couldn’t have at the larger pier to the west. With a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the view of the lake, more and more residents are taking advantage of the structure. Mayor E.R. “Red” Giles obtained the materials for the pier free of charge from the City of Lake Charles and had the facility built from scratch.
