Going, but haven't finalized plans, yet. I'll look into that flight to Richmond. How far is the drive to Lynchburg?

ETA: that's a good bit away. I think I'd rather fly direct to Charlotte from Lafayette and be home when I land on Monday. The Panthers have a home game on that Sunday.

Yeah, its a two hour drive from Richmond to Lynchburg. I tend to forget about that 2 hour drive to Lafayette to Nola. I got spoiled living so close to MSY since I moved here.

Check on flights to Roanoke...or Greensboro High Point, NC (GHP)
    or check google maps...

Roanoke is definitely closest but can be pricey. Another option is the Allegiant flight from MSY to Concord, NC (some are familiar with this option going to games in Boone). The drive from there is only about 1/2 hour longer than Richmond with better roads.

I am actually going to fly into Charlotte drive up to Lynchburg and then spend a few days in West Virginia with family. Will take in the basketball game at Marshall with my cousin who is a Marshall alum, then head back to Charlotte so we can spend Thanksgiving with my 88 year old grandmother.

That sounds like an awesome trip! Be safe and have fun (like you have to tell a Ragin Cajun fan to have fun)!

Lynchburg is a pretty cool town. I have spent many a night traveling through and to Lynchburg.

About a 3 hour drive from Concord...nice countryside once you get into Virginia. Who was the greatest UL/USL Athlete from Virginia?
