Thread: Uh-oh, the 2021 season's halfway done! Grade The Cajuns

I gave them a B. I liked what I saw against App State, but now I need to see the same effort for the remainder of the season. The App State game showed us our potential to play at a high level, now do we keep building on that or do we play down to our competition again.

For sure everyone would like to see more consistent play.

    That's what it's all about.

It is always interesting to see how quickly expectations can change for a fan base. 2 years ago if you had said we’d be 5-1, our only loss was to Texas, and we just skull drug a 4-1 App State team, there’s no way anyone would give lower grade than an A.

There’s nothing wrong with high expectations, but I hope our fan base remembers to take a step back to see the bigger picture. Let’s not forget that even though we aren’t perfect, this is still a very, very special moment in Cajun football history.

Peering back to appreciate the present view is fine, stepping back is less than desirable.

If you don't know where you've been, you have no clue where you are going. Or where you are.

I had a duck guide running out in the morning in a thick fog who found himself in a similar situation.

Lost as a goose, he decides to stop and evaluate the situation.

He wets his finger and holds it up in the wind. Then he proceeds to tell us - this way is north . . . This way is south . . .this way is east . . . This way is west . . .

    I then said . . . TomTom, where you at . . . He said . . . I don’t know . . .

Needless to say, his evaluation did not get us to the blind until shortly before 8:00

Yep. We certainly have not played up to expectations on some games, but we still walked away with a W for all of them. In my view that gives us at east an A-.
