It's only good for UL playing on Tuesday night on ESPN2 if we play extremely well, and get good recognition for beating a good App St. team.
If we lose, it's a high price to pay to miss out on gaining what would have been a good Saturday Gameday Atmosphere.
Tuesday game is worth the loss in attendance if you beat a good team. I’m at work and have watched ESPN all afternoon and only a small mention of Alabama losing to aTm, everything was NFL, more NFL, some baseball, Fury fight followed by more NFL. Only thing sports related we are competing against is baseball playoffs.
Key is we have to play and win a great game and reap lots of coverage the next day.
Good points in the above post. However, it may be a moot issue. The SBC just extended the contract with ESPN for several more years and they control game times. We are powerless to do anything about this at this time. I have asked before if some type of deal could be made to insure that no school has to ever play more than 2 weeknight home games in any season. No one has ever answered the possibility of that proposal. When Jay had a radio show and would get the commissioner's on, he would ask this type of question. Tough to get that type of interview now. Perhaps one of the local guys could bring it up to Dr. Maggard next time he is on radio.
