Tickets Behind Enemy Lines: Appalachian State Mountaineers

App St week! The guys from The Black & Gold Podcast, AJ and Big C, join the pod to talk Cajuns / Neers, a friendly rivalry, mutual respect between fan bases and tid bits about the Sun Belt. The RR boys finish off the South Alabama win, address fan reaction to "whining" about the team's performance, react to Billy's comments about "getting the win", big game promotion, and MAT takes the mic on "Maaan I tell you what!" to ask the Ragin Cajun fanbase a question. Think you guys will like the BGP podcasters. They are very knowledgeable about their program. We learn something every time we talk to those guys. And they are respectful of our program.

Also, I had to drive this episode. So apologies in advance for any gaffes

    Love Apps 1-1-1 scheduling philosophy.

Louisiana needs to quit treating scheduling like it's hard.

    Good scheduling "pays for itself."

Some cheap Ruinite Lambrusco would have gotten you through the 4-1 winey part of the show.

So much here to unpack...i can recall all those years ago the blowback on this board when it was announced App and GSU were coming to the Sunbelt. App, especially has added emense value to Sunbelt football. Just listen to the 2 App guys...they exude confidence in the program and it's fans...crowd size at App is never in question. I've said it before, UL could learn a whole bunch from the guys in Boone.

I think that means 1 at home, 1 away and 1 at a neutral site.

    1 at their place
    1 at home
1 money game at their place for less than the going rate.

"It pays for itself" was the phrase I think they used.

And the way they sell the “money game” idea is rather than making a Miami (for example) pay them $1mm to go to Miami, they take a discounted rate (think Big C mentioned $400k) as their money game. The money you make on the Miami visit to your stadium more than makes up for the smaller payday.

    It’s brilliant.

We've done this before. I believe it was Oklahoma State when David Walker was AD.
