Default Cajun Baseball's Draft for World Series

This Sunday, Oct. 12, the team after finishing its intrasquad game, will head over to "Legends" @ 215 Bertrand Dr. for a cook-out @ 5 o'clock, then starting @ 6pm.. the 10 Seniors will stay and choose up sides and Tony has been kind enough to allow anyone interested to come be a part of the fun with the "Draft" for this years World Series.

This will be a great time to meet and greet this years team as well as show your support for the work these fellows have been doing since Sept. 15th. Trust me, nothing makes a young athlete feel good about himself than to have fans come up and shake his hand or pat him on the back.

    World Series games 1 & 2 (Best 3 of 5) will be October 14th and 15th starting @ 6pm. Game 3 is scheduled for the 17th also @ 6.

If necessary, game 4 will start @ 1 on the 19th, with game 5 starting right after game 4.

Hope to see "you" there.. Legends on Bertand, between Deano's and Johnston St.

WHITE TEAM TAKES GAME ONE OF FALL WORLD SERIES

LAFAYETTE- Louisiana’s Ragin Cajuns White team won the first game of the best-of-five Fall World Series. Kraig Schambough picked up the win as the White team put up eight runs in the sixth inning on way to a 12-6 final.

Redshirt freshman Jeremy Whipple took the loss for the Red squad after giving up three hits, three walks and being charged with four earned runs after relieving starter Kevin Ardoin to start the bottom of the sixth. Ardoin had kept the White team in check through five allowing just three hits while fanning four. .

The Red team jumped ahead early 2-0 lead, getting single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but fell behind never to regain the lead after the top of the sixth.

Justin Merendino led the charge for White with a leadoff single. Dallas Morris also added a single which was followed by a double off of the bat of Jason Rodriguez that scored Merendino for the White’s first run of the game. With first base open, Brad Saloom was walked intentionally to load bases.

Unintentional walks issued to Justin Morgan and Alex Preciado brought in two more runs giving the White team a 3-2 lead.

Justin Boyette replaced Whipple with two outs in the inning. Josh Landry singled off of the new pitcher driving in a run as the base runners advanced off of a throwing error by the shortstop. Merindino came up to bat again, this time bringing in two with a double.

    Thanks snote!

I was there for the whole game and got the score right and the winning team backwards.

In my defense I ran into Judge Saloom and had my back to the game for the last couple of innings.

    Default Game Two

RED TEAM RALLIES LATE TO EVEN FALL WORLD SERIES
Devon Bourque drives in tying and go-ahead runs with ninth inning triple

LAFAYETTE- One day prior to the start of the professional baseball world
series the Ragin' Cajuns resumed with Game 2 of their own Fall World Series
from M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field. The Red team rallied for two runs in the
ninth inning for a 5-4 victory to even the best of five series at one game
    each.

The Red team struck early off White team starter Josh Kohrs with two runs in
the top half of the first inning on three straight singles to open the game.
Micah Cockrell picked up a run scoring single to score the first run and
Kevin Preau hit a sacrifice fly to right field for the second run.

Red team starter Brandt Sanders held the White team scoreless for three
innings until they broke through with two runs in the fourth inning to tie
the game at 2-2. Brad Saloom plated Dallas Morris and Rhett Buras with a
double to right field to even the score.

Left fielder Leonard Guerrero put the Red team back on top with a
solo-homerun over the left-center field wall with one out in the fifth
    inning.

The White team knocked Kohrs out of the game following Justin Merendino's
single to center field that drove home Justin Morgan from third to tie the
    game at 3-3.

The White team took a 4-3 lead after first baseman Rhett Buras led off the
sixth inning with a triple and scored on a wild pitch by Red pitcher Sean
    Glynn.

Aaron Hayes pitched three impressive scoreless innings of middle relief for
the White team, striking out seven, and allowing just one hit before giving
way to Thad Montgomery to open the ninth inning.

Shortstop Tim Daigle led off the ninth inning against Montgomery with a
single up the middle and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Leonard
Guerrero. Red third baseman Devon Bourque ripped a triple to the right field
    wall to score Daigle
with the tying run and rounded third to score the eventual winning run on an
errant relay throw from the infield.

University of Tennessee transfer Patrick Green came in to pitch the bottom
half of the ninth inning for the Red team and silenced any hopes of comeback
by retiring three consecutive batters to record the save.

Micah Cockrell picked up the win for the Red team after holding the White
team to just one hit and no runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
Montgomery suffered the loss for the White team after giving up two runs on
