Louisiana Women's Tennis hosted Lamar University and McNeese State University at Cajun Courts this past weekend for the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational.

Louisiana Women's Tennis hosted Lamar University and McNeese State University at Cajun Courts this past weekend for the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational.

The Ragin' Cajuns secured wins in four doubles matches and victories in seven singles matches.

Louisiana began the tournament Friday with two doubles wins, highlighted by a 6-4 win from Momoko Yoshimura and Nikol Dobrilova over McNeese State's Natalia Ballo and Ariane Monlleo Sanchis.

Pairing Tanisha Kashyap and Catarina Zheng (7-6 (6)) also picked a doubles win.

Newcomer Carla Urchoeguia defeated Lamar's Emmeline Polevoi, 6-3, 6-1, whiel Kashyap and Yoshimura both contributed to singles wins as well.

Louisiana's first win on Saturday came from doubles pairing Yoshimura and Zheng with a 6-2 win against Lamar's Elena Rodriguez and Alba Perez. AK Harvey and Kashyap also grabbed a win from Lamar's Jayci Wong Elena Rubio, 6-1.

The Ragin' Cajuns swept the singles matches against McNeese State on Saturday afternoon. Kashyap defeated Matilde Mulatero with a 6-2, 6-1 win. Urchoeguia, Dobrilova, and Yoshimura also added to Saturday's four-win streak.

Louisiana is set to travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the ITA Southern Regional Oct. 14-19. More information on the event will be released soon.
