He is saying its NCAA tournament or bust. Winning record in regular season dont matter.

I believe the current contract calls for an automatic extension with either a regular season or tournament championship. 2nd place in either triggers nothing.

Tell that to anyone with a successful WBB program. Return would not be immediate, but a couple of NCAA Tournament runs would change that. Women's hoops is very popular in this area.

Troy and Little Rock have probably been the best teams in the conference and they barley average over 1,000 people. Heck even LSU is under 2,000 people for games. The extra funds would be put to better use on Football or MBB

Women's basketball is unwatchable. It's a total joke and waste of money to have to use the Cajundome for those games.
ETA: the league would be better off going back to the double-header format. At least gives them a chance to play in front of a few more people.

I'm not sure the real money comes from the gate. And gate money is important, but the real money for programs are from WtD donors who recognize commitment and effort and want to do more.

Also not every fan is a fan of every sport. I found that out from the comings and goings on Ragin Pagin. Many knew that already.

It's the one sport I can't watch outside of Tennis. I think at the mid major level it would be next to impossible to see a heavy fan investment.

The talent level after about the top 5 teams, is bad. I agree its unwatchable.

J Kelly Ball recognized the value of an appropriately sized venue.

In doing so he was soon packing EKL.

Last year 50 teams averaged 2700 or more for womens basketball. [2019-2020] last more or less full season]
