    Default Dr. David Fisher SR.

    Long time Cajun supporter and former football player Dr. David Fisher Sr. passed away this morning at 1:00.

    A really good man.

    So sorry to hear that. He was in his 90's I believe and before COVID I would see him out at Cajun Field still setting up his tailgate site. Most of the time I believe he was setting up by himself or it seemed with very little help. The Cajuns have lost a great fan and a better man!

    Prayers for his family as well.

    He is Dr. David Fisher, Jr's dad (optomitrist)

    Yes Rick. I have several long conversations with over the years. He served in WWII and recently returned to some of the places in the Pacific were he had served. One of the great UL fans and family.

    This makes me sad. Such a good and beloved man. My kids both have fond memories of him and his family. Huge loss indeed.

    He was a huge supporter of UL and former athlete at the school as well as WWII veteran. By all accounts he was a wonderful human being. I went to high school with his youngest 3 children although none were in my class. All good people. RIP Dr. Fisher.

    The funeral will be Saturday at 1 o’clock at Saint Pius. The funeral home is Delhommes on Bertrand and it will be open Friday from two to 8 o’clock with the rosary that evening.
