7-0
Absolutely nothing to get excited over.
McNeese hung 13 on them. Talladega College (NAIA D2) and SLU 11, ULM 7, Lamar 9, South Al 15. All were shutouts.
ASU had 1 shot (which was on goal), 1 offside and zero corners, which means the vast majority of the game was UL on offense. And we were only up 2-0 at half.
How they beat Nicholls 2-1 have not a clue. They’ve scored 3 goals this year. If anything, why we didn’t score more.
The most important numbers so far this year is 0-1 in conference with two road games coming up where the Cajuns will need divine intervention to win.
But we’ll finish with ULM and such, winnable matches. And News Copy will talk about being on a roll. Making the conference tournament should not be a goal, it should be an expectation.
Players at this level are coachable. I’m 100% sure Lance Key can coach. Recruiting is the issue for some reason for programs across the country with exceptions being the usual suspects...UNC, west coast and the rest. International players come in all over the land. The sport is a priority where they come from. America, not so much...growing up, other than the dead period in July (2 weeks when I was in that world) and a week or so between end of h/s and returning to travel ball, soccer was played. We burn them out in the USA, not to mention the 3 B’s enter the picture. Booze, beer and boys.
