Heard about it on Saturday morning; confirmed it Saturday night.

That might be the story for THIS game. We did not look prepared for Nicholls. And to top it off game adjustments on D in particular were lacking. That’s the coaching staff’s job and they failed.
Good part is I think we all believe that will be fixed and quickly. I hope ………

Yet we are 1-1, who really thought we would be anything different at this point. We will be better than we have shown so far.

I'd argue that a better measuring stick of how good a defense is is the 3rd down conversion percentage given up. We are giving up first downs on 62% of conversion attempts? That's insane and that won't win you many games down the stretch. We're also giving up 475 yards per game. You compare that to last year where we gave up 43% on 3rd down conversions (which still isn't that great) and 355 yards per game.

I'm not saying the defense can't be considered very good by the end of the season but its currently not a very good unit right now and I think that has more to do with scheme than anything else.
Poor third down results are due to not being able to handle scrambling quarterbacks. That is more of a factor than scheme in my view. Now, can we adjust in those situations going forward is a legitimate question. I grant that scheme may have to be tweaked slightly to address that issue.

If anyone listened to one of my early podcast, I called Michael Jefferson my breakout player this year. I think he will continue to impress.

He did have a really nice seam pass in the first but other than that it was just chucking up fade routes and hoping we would win the 50/50 ball.

No one can tell me that this wouldn’t both work and/or be appealing to local businesses 5-6 times a year. Especially with local restaurants still trying to come back from Covid.
There would be a vendor waiting list.

James Winston made the same quick decisions to run yesterday.

yeah....but I think you don't have to look any further than how it is done at the tigue. Maybe I am missing something, but your suggestions are pretty much what is done at the there. Why cant we just do the same thing at CF?

    Default Positives from Saturday

If I did nothing but read comments and forums, I’d think Saturday was the worst disaster in the history of our program.

Other than winning and decent crowd, were there any positives?

Kind of, just bigger. I want to replicate what Festival International does with food row.

Also gives you another revenue vehicle. Fast pass bracelet for a fee. RCAF or not.
