"We just have to clean things up" projected coach speak.
This is pathetic. Nichols beat us everywhere but the scoreboard. For the second week in a row, no pass defense and we make a QB look like a Heisman candidate. We had a great record last no year, but squeaked by so many games. Looks like this year will be no different, if we remain lucky. If an FCS team can do this to us, not looking good against better competition. Now we play Ohio who lost to FCS Duquesne. Should be a toss up game based on what I have seen. And, we see how good Texas is getting manhandled by one of the worse teams in the SEC. Very disappointing start to the season. Interested to see what Napier has to say. No defense, suspect offense and a lame QB that he supports without fault. I'll certainly take the win and move on. But, damn, so much more was expected this year.
Our passing game, and our running game sucks. I don't care what the stats say.
This was a win and I’ll take it, but our offense needs to figure it out because we looked bad.
5 days to get ready for the next game.
No…it was complete sarcasm from me tonight. Every year I hope for change for the better, better QB play, better pass defense, better play calling, better effort, less misses tackles, and every year I get all worked up about the hype of how good this guy is or that guy, we got the best O line in SBC, but every year we stumble out of the gate. The only thing we’ve been consistent at for that decade is making other QBs look like possible heisman contenders. Nope, I don’t think we have a strong vertical game in the cards, and from the looks of it we don’t have a horizontal one either.
Wife missed the end of first quarter, all of second quarter and most of halftime, but at least we got a cold hamburger and nachos with cold cheese.
We HAVE to do better!
Crowd looked good. Just quiet. Maybe our offense and defense had something to do with it. Special teams did well. Good hands on onside kicks. Lose those two and we would really be hurting
Didn’t do a thing to ease any concerns. We won. Just leave it at that. Don’t even want to get into the stats or x’s and o’s at this point. Let the coaching staff figure that out. They have their work cut out for them.
