I agree. This has been my biggest criticism thus far even though most want to bag on LL as the person to blame but I'm more disappointed in the coaching and scheme. Can someone please explain to me why we start Stevens and Jefferson and watch them make catch after catch on the opening scoring drive and then we see them sparingly the rest of the game. Nicholls has a guy catch 13 passes and these guys look great and they barely see the field the rest of the game. Also, our defense was nasty last year, especially our secondary but yet we are playing 10 yards off of receivers and playing soft zone? Why? We are literally supposed to have one of the best secondaries in the entire country and we are playing like we're playing against Alabama?

That's what happens when you play scared.

Which throw can you be thinking of? The one where the receiver fell down on the throw? I only saw one overthrow which was on the deep ball that the receiver got a holding call.

My first response is yes but it can't be just them. If you remember, our OL was playing poorly to start last year and they weren't as effective early as they were later on but this system is not for the current guys we have. People want Smith to be a workhorse guy but he can't be in this system. It's obvious. Ragas and Mitchell broke tackle after tackle and then got downfield. There's a difference

Nicolls has no defense. Sorry, not really, but the score will be very close to 69-9.

That same Nicholls team scored 17 on a Memphis defense that gave up 50 to Arkansas St. But please, by all means tell me good Nicholls is, or how bad UL is playing right now?

Two games down and LL wasn't the best QB on the field, Texas I understand tonight I don't. LL is capable of running the ball as well as Scott did tonight but he doesn't. He floats passes I was thinking its duck season get the shot gun. The defense playing 10 to 15 yard off receivers unacceptable. Its going to be a long season if we don't get it together. Nichols brought a nice crowd I was surprised and pleased.

Does anybody bother to watch the offensive Line?

It’s a sieve.

The running backs are getting hit three and 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

I don’t think any of the quarterbacks on the roster could be productive with the pressure this line allows.

And Scott was hurting by the end of that game. The staff does not want LL running like that especially for that reason. I wish he would run more, especially if Fields is as good as everyone else around here thinks he is. I wish we ran the option a little more and kept defenses honest rather than just loading up on the back. Again, I get the criticism of LL to a degree because he has been limited in his career, especially throwing the deep ball but tonight he was the lone bright spot. When we went pass heavy on our first drive of the game and first drive of the 4th quarter, he moved the ball easily up and down the field and we looked our best. I only saw one bad throw which was the one that hit at the receivers feet but I thought he was playing pretty well. Our defense and running game? not so much.
