I don't want their schedule but there are 60+ P5 schools desperately doing everything in their power to stay home OOC.

There is a bus load of money to be earned beating opponents on the road.

I think Louisiana needs to be independent to reach its full financial potential.

That would also make Louisiana the first name on the docket for any expanding league that actually pays its members to be members.

The money Louisiana gets from the Sunbelt doesn't even cover SBC road costs.

Also, please tell what money you are thinking the conference should pay us? We get revenue sharing from the television contracts but honestly, is CUSA or AAC's television contracts that much better than ours? If we are on the rise along with the rest of our conference, wouldn't that generate more tv dollars? We don't become attractive to bigger conferences by playing P5 ridden schedules every year.

It is all a numbers game. How many of the 60 mentioned will pay in the $1.5mm range, very few.

Also, if we are going to continue to try to boost our home schedule with home and home exchanges, then those will be minimal pay games if any pay at all.

So, with those two limitations, what is a realistic goal for annual payouts from our 3 OOC away games each year?

Driving to work this morning and listening to Sirius XM 84 College Football show. Danny Kannel and his co-host were discussing all of the good match-ups in week 1 and they include a very respectful analysis of the Louisiana v. Texas matchup. Kannel stated the game was not a layup for Texas but that it was must win for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas program. When pressed about whether Texas would win, Danny Kannel "guaranteed" that Texas would win the game.

The talking heads said that the win last year at Iowa State has made Texas focus more on the game than might otherwise have happened. Needless to say that the talking heads of college football have the game circled and will be watching closely.

Well, I "guarantee" that Coach Napier and the CAJUNS are looking at this as a MUST-WIN game!!!
