I get what you’re saying but it’s not necessarily true. Depends on the circumstances. Say we lose a close one to Texas and they go undefeated, Ohio wins the MAC and Liberty finished ranked again. I could see us making it then.

There is only so much ESPN can do. While the auto SBC tie ins remain the same (NO, Lending Tree, Camellia, Myrtle, Cure), ESPN can move any school to one of the bowls they own.
They can work with some other bowls to try to place a team, but that bowl would have to have an opening because of contractual agreements.
I still can't believe after all these years, we are still talking about a "better bowl." Some may be perceived as better because they're different from what we're used to....but if we go 13-0, we aren't getting in the Outback, Gator, Cheez-It, etc.
