Had not considered that, but that's an interesting thought. I just always expect to be shafted by officials when playing bigger conferences.

I think having both teams ranked makes it easier to promote and the game will seem bigger to the casual fan who wouldn't ordinarily watch. Just about anyone who loves CFB will watch a top 25 matchup.

I agree, we typically get the short end of the stick playing P5 schools.

Along with the rankings and more eyeballs on the game, what about the B12 refs. Can't see them being too happy about UT and OU leaving their conference. Of course, I'm assuming a B12 crew will handle our game.

I'll be honest, I thought you were wacky at first. I may be slow but I'm also dumb!

This reminds me of a story my Uncle told me. He played for Bill Parcells at Air Force, then at UL (then USL). He said, one Saturday, they arrived at the visitors stadium, and were getting off the bus. Parcells was stopped and asked how he thought his team matched up. He said, "I know everyones been talking about our size....but I wanna warn you...we may be small, but we're slow too!"

………I do care very much what we are called and why…..as soon as we are called with the Lafayette or extra L there needs to be a response with proper reasoning to refute their use….back up the name that we are athletically called!

By not using our preferred name, they cost us a small fortune in marketing dollars. No way this wasn't intentional.
